UFC odds explained: fair chances, method, rounds
Type two fighters' prices to see fair chances with the margin removed, then check method of victory, rounds and goes-the-distance markets. The sections below explain the math and the PROLINE+ rules.
Fighter Aabout 64 in 100
The two prices add up to 104.4%, so the margin is 4.4%. Without it, fighter A wins 63.9% of fights that end with a winner (about 64 in 100).
A draw has no price on a two-way moneyline, so under PROLINE+ rules a drawn fight is void and the stake comes back. In the last 5 years 1.4% of UFC fights ended in a draw or no contest. At 1.50 on fighter A, the expected return is −$4.16 per $100 staked (draws included).
| Outcome | Fair chance (prices) | Division average |

| B by decisionat 6.00 | 14.4%6.93 | 17.4%5.76 |
The six prices add up to 115.4% (margin 15.4%). Fair split: fighter A 64.0%, fighter B 36.0%; by KO/TKO 42.4%, by submission 19.1%, by decision 38.5%.
Division average: fighter A’s fair chance from the moneyline times how UFC fights of 3 rounds ended in the last 5 years (2358 fights, all divisions). Pick the division above for its own shares. It knows nothing about these two fighters.

| Finish in round 2 | 18.0% |
| Finish in round 3 | 8.7% |
Round by round: the chance of a finish spread like the finishes of 2358 past UFC fights of 3 rounds (all divisions). A k.5 line is passed 2:30 into round k + 1 (PROLINE+).
- Fighter A wins: moneyline 63.9%, method list 64.0%
Consistent ranges 62%–67% and 58%–74% overlap - Goes the distance: yes/no 43.1%, method list (decisions) 38.5%
Consistent ranges 40%–45% and 29%–44% overlap - Under 2.5: priced 51.1%; from the distance chance and past finish times 52.6%
Consistent ranges 49%–53% and 50%–55% overlap
How it is calculated
Implied chance = 1 ÷ decimal odds; the prices of one market add up to more than 100%: that is the margin66.7% + 37.7% = 104.4%
Proportional: fair chance = implied chance ÷ sum. Power: implied chance to a power k, with k so the chances add up to 100%fighter A 63.86%
Range of a fair chance, whatever the margin method: from 1 − the implied chances of all other outcomes, up to its own implied chance62%–67%
Division average of an outcome = fair chance of the fighter × share of the method (KO/TKO with DQ, submission, decision with technical decision)21.36%
Under k.5 = (1 − chance of the distance) × share of past finishes that came before 2:30 of round k + 113.13% (0.5)

Where the division averages come from
Which fights. Every UFC bout with a result on 212 cards from Oct 25, 2021 to Oct 24, 2026 (the last 5 years up to the newest result): 2,613 bouts. Results of a card are read 60 hours after the start of its date, so late corrections on Wikipedia settle first.
Groups as PROLINE+ settles them. KO/TKO includes disqualification (a finish); a technical decision counts as a decision; draws and no contests are void when the market has no price for them, so they are left out of the shares and shown apart.
Three or five rounds. A decision tells how many rounds were scheduled; so does a finish in round 4 or 5. For other finishes we take the main event and title fights as five rounds and the rest as three. On the 1,229 decisions of the period this rule gives the right number of rounds 99.3% of the time.
Small samples. A division needs 30 fights before its shares are shown; women’s featherweight and five-round fights of a single division are often below that.
Event data: Wikipedia: List of UFC events and the event pages, text under CC BY-SA 4.0; checked once a day. A page is read only when its revision has stood for 6 hours, and every bout must pass a strict check (weight class, method, round, time) before it counts. Settlement rules: PROLINE+ Game Conditions (draw void, finish, technical decision, the distance, total rounds).

Remove the margin from a moneyline
Fair chance = implied chance ÷ (implied chance A + implied chance B)
Example: For example, −150 / +130: implied 60.0% and 43.5%, sum 103.5%. Fair: 60.0% ÷ 103.5% = 58.0%.
Method of victory: six outcomes
| Outcome | What must happen |
|---|---|
| Fighter A by KO/TKO | A wins by knockout or referee stoppage |
| Fighter A by submission | B taps out or is stopped in a hold |
| Fighter A by decision | Judges' scorecards give A the win |
| Fighter B by KO/TKO | B wins by knockout or referee stoppage |
| Fighter B by submission | A taps out or is stopped in a hold |
| Fighter B by decision | Judges' scorecards give B the win |
Under PROLINE+, a technical decision is settled as a win by decision. Under PROLINE+, a DQ counts as a finish; other books may differ, so check their rules.
Inside the distance vs goes the distance
Inside the distance
- The fight ends before the judges score it
- Counts: KO, TKO, DQ, submission
- Also a towel from the corner or a referee stoppage
- Only finishes count for round betting under PROLINE+
Goes the distance
- Judges' scorecards decide the result
- All scheduled rounds must be completed
- The calculator covers three- and five-round fights
- After a technical decision, PROLINE+ voids goes-the-distance bets
How PROLINE+ settles MMA bets

UFC betting markets in one line
Moneyline
Pick the fighter who wins. Both prices hold the margin; the calculator above removes it.
Method of victory
Pick the winner and how: KO/TKO, submission or decision. The calculator shows what the six prices add up to and the margin.
Round betting
Pick the fighter and the round of the finish. Under PROLINE+, only KO, TKO, DQ or submission counts.
Total rounds
Over or under a line of rounds, settled on real fight time, not on full rounds.
Goes the distance
Yes if judges decide after all scheduled rounds; no if it ends inside the distance. A technical decision voids it under PROLINE+.
UFC parlay
Several fights on one ticket. Prices multiply, so the margin of each leg is carried into the parlay price.

Questions
How do you read UFC odds?
The minus price is the favourite, the plus price the underdog. For example, −150 means a 60.0% implied chance and +130 means 43.5%. Convert other formats with the odds converter.
What is the margin in UFC betting odds?
In the example, both fighters' implied chances add up to 103.5%. The extra 3.5% above a fair book is the margin – the cost of the bet. The margin calculator removes it for any market.
What happens to my bet if a UFC fight is a draw?
Under PROLINE+ rules, if no draw price was offered and the official result is a draw, bets are void. A no contest is also void. Other sportsbooks may settle differently – check their rules.
Can I put UFC fights in a parlay?
It depends on what your provincial lottery offers. Prices multiply, so each leg's margin is carried into the parlay price. Under PROLINE+, a void leg reduces the parlay by that leg and the stake stays on the rest. See the parlay calculator.
Is UFC betting the same in every province?
The answer depends on the laws of your province; this page is not legal advice. Products and settlement rules differ: read the game conditions of the product you use before you place a bet.
