Why did my PROLINE ticket lose? Ties, OT, over/under, void
Pick the sport, the market and what happened. The wizard gives a verdict for each leg with the official rule quoted.
Example: pick what happened
PROLINE · 3-way result
Only the tie won
A 3-way bet is settled on regular time only (in hockey, three 20-minute periods). The game was level then, so only the tie pays. A pick on either team loses, even on the team that won later.
- Rule Unless stated otherwise, bets are settled on regular time; in hockey regular time is 3 x 20 minutes
Source quote
all bets will be considered valid for the result at the end of the "Regular Time" or "Full Time" only.
in hockey it is stipulated as the 3 x 20-minute periods

Void single vs void parlay leg
Void single
- Your stake is refunded
- Only that single bet is cancelled and refunded
Void leg in a parlay
- The leg is removed and the parlay gets shorter
- The stake stays on the shorter parlay – nothing refunded
- For example: $10.00 on three legs at 1.91 pays $69.58
- One leg void: it pays $36.45, like a two-leg parlay
Check your ticket step by step
- Find the market timeframeRegular time, one period, or no timeframe? That decides if OT and the shootout count.
- Compare the result with the lineExactly on the over/under or spread line means void – in combined props, lost.
- Remove void legsThe parlay pays on the remaining legs with the same stake.
- Recheck the payoutMultiply the decimal odds of the winning legs, then the stake. See what your ticket pays.
Terms on your ticket
- Void
- The leg is cancelled. A single is refunded; a parlay continues without that leg.
- Push
- Result exactly on the line. Normal over/under or spread: void. Combined props: lost. Same Game Parlay: that part is removed, the rest is paid.
- Dead heat
- Two or more outcomes tie for the winning spot and no draw was offered. The payout is reduced by the number tied.
- SGP
- Same Game Parlay: all legs from one event. Inside another parlay it counts as one selection.
- Regular time
- The default settlement period. In hockey: the three periods, no overtime, no shootout.
- Overtime
- Extra play after regular time. In the OLG glossary it does not include shootouts.

Questions
What happens to a PROLINE over/under bet if the total lands on the line?
The bet is void. A single is refunded; in a parlay the leg is removed and the stake stays on the remaining legs. In combined prop offers, a push counts as lost.
Does overtime count on PROLINE hockey bets?
It depends on the market. Markets stated as Regular Time ignore OT. Team and match markets with no stated timeframe include OT and the shootout, and the winner is credited one goal.
Do PROLINE player props include the shootout?
No. Unless the market says otherwise, hockey player stat markets include overtime but not the shootout.
What happens to my PROLINE bet if the game is postponed?
If the event is moved more than 12 hours after the original start, or cancelled and not rescheduled, bets are void, with listed exceptions. An abandoned NHL match stands only if under 5 minutes of the third period remained.
Are these PROLINE tie rules the same in every province?
No. This page covers OLG PROLINE in Ontario, Game Conditions effective Sep 28, 2026. Other provinces' lottery sports games have their own rules – check the game conditions of your provincial lottery.
