Questions
How do I read an American odds chart?
Find the American price, then read across: decimal odds, implied chance and profit on $100. Minus prices are favourites, plus prices are underdogs. More on this in how betting odds work.
What does −110 mean in betting?
−110 means you stake the number after the minus sign, in dollars, to win $100 profit. Scaled to a $100 stake, the profit is $90.91 and the implied chance is 52.4%.
How do I convert odds that are not in the chart?
Use the odds converter for any American, decimal or fractional price. For the exact payout on your stake, use the bet payout calculator.
Does the implied chance include the bookmaker's margin?
Yes. Each price carries the margin. On a two-way market the two implied chances add up to more than a full hundred per cent; the extra is the margin. The margin calculator shows it and the chances with the margin removed.
