Questions
How do I delete my betting account?
Withdraw your balance, then open account settings or the responsible gambling section and choose close account. If there is no such option, ask support in writing to close it permanently. Menus differ by site.
Is closing a betting account the same as self-exclusion?
No. Closing ends one account on one site. Self-exclusion bars you for a set period, depending on the program, and some provincial programs cover many sites at once. See the table above.
Can I block myself from all Ontario regulated online gaming platforms?
Yes. BetGuard from iGaming Ontario lets people 19+ opt out of all Ontario regulated online gaming platforms through one online portal.
Can I reopen a closed betting account?
Some sites allow it, so closing alone may not stop you. A self-exclusion program is stronger. In Quebec, registration in the autoexclusion program cannot be cancelled.
Where can I talk to someone about my gambling?
Many provinces have a help line. Find the one for your province on Gambling help by province.
