Puck dropFinal horn

Model: two average NHL teams, goals at the 2025-26 league rate, overtime a coin flip. A teaching model, not a forecast.

Futures

A bet on a result weeks or months away, like a title.

Team A: $10 returns $25.00 if it wins the title. Chance by price 40.0%.

100%

All six prices add up to 119.5%; the extra 19.5% is the margin on the whole list.

A parlay where you move each line in your favour, for a lower price.

Bet types at a glance

Live (in-play)

A bet placed after the game starts. The price changes with the score, the clock and penalties.

Futures

+250 = 28.6%

A bet on a season result, such as the Stanley Cup winner. Your money stays in the bet until the result is known.

Props

A bet on a player or team stat, such as shots, points or saves.

Cash out

You ask to settle a bet early for the amount offered, before all its markets are resulted. Only on PROLINE+.

Teaser

Adds the same pre-set points to every spread or total leg of a parlay. The lines move in your favour; check the odds on the offer.

Parlay

+596

Several legs in one bet; all must win. Three coin-flip legs win together 1 in 8 (12.5%). At 6.96, the margin costs on average 13.0% of the stake.

Same Game Parlay (SGP)

A parlay with all legs from one game. Inside another parlay it counts as one selection. One void leg voids the whole SGP and refunds it.

Pre-game vs live betting

Live (in-play)

  • Placed after the game starts
  • Prices change after every goal or penalty
  • Less time to check each price
  • It is easy to place several bets quickly, so check the total you have bet

Teaser+ on PROLINE: how it works

ItemNormal parlayWith Teaser+
Spread linesAs listedMoved by the same points on every leg
Total linesAs listedMoved by the same points on every leg
OddsListed oddsShown on the offer – check before you bet
Push on a legLeg void, parlay reducedLeg removed, odds recalculated

The same pre-set points apply to all legs. After a push leg, the odds are recalculated. Check the offer before you bet; the margin is still in the price.

Read any price the same way

Implied chance = 1 ÷ decimal odds

Example: For example, −110 is 1.91 (1 + 100 ÷ 110 = 1.91), so the implied chance is 52.4%.

Questions

What is in-play betting?

A bet placed after the event has started. Prices move with the score and the clock. The bet settles on the time frame of the market, for example regular time or including overtime.

What is a teaser bet?

A parlay of spreads or totals where every line moves in your favour by the same points. On PROLINE Teaser+, the same pre-set points apply to all legs; a push leg is removed and the odds are recalculated. Check the odds on the offer.

What is a futures bet?

A bet on a long-term result, such as the Stanley Cup winner. It settles only when that result is known, so your money stays in the bet until then.

Can I cash out a PROLINE bet?

Cash Out is a PROLINE+ feature for online bets. In-store PROLINE tickets have no Cash Out.

Do hockey prop bets include overtime?

On PROLINE, player and team stat markets include overtime but not shootouts, unless the market says otherwise. Check the market name before you bet.
